Quilt Gallery – Free motion all over

CQ140: an antique top, now quilted to be functional. free motion with feathers inside the dresden plate, and a design inspired by Irena Bluhm to fill the background, 'parchment' YLI thread, warm & natural batting. CQ140: backside CQ60: a Winter Wonderland! allover spirals with silver metallic thread on the top, and ocean mist in the bobbin. Tricky working w/the metallic thread. A longer stitch and smaller needle seemed to help. CQ42: allover scroll work, very delicate. This echos the pattern of the backing fabric and some of the fabrics in the pieced top. CQ37: all-over large pebbles - freemotion. Dupioni Silk with batik on the back; wool batting. customer request: circles/loops close together/modern/willing to have additional input. This will be a wall hanging and in a show in Maryland next Spring. It would have been fun to leave one square unquilted or put a big heart in one square or something like that, but in the end just did it consistently throughout. I think this was originally designed to help raise funds for the American Heart Association. As I was quilting I kept thinking I was quilting blood cells onto it ;-) HA! CQ36: all-over leaves --freemotion. Batiks with wool batting.
